i arbitrarily decided i wanted to learn to make celestial art, so here's the result. as it's my first time and i know virtually nothing about space to begin with, please to not be overly critical. :d

credit must go to `alyn and *photoshop-tutorials for the phenomenal planet tutorial: [link] and star tutorial: [link]

wallpaper of this piece is available for download here, or in widescreen resolution from my website here.

<edit> star field has been fixed. no, i'm not going to change the wallpapers, because changing the dimensions was a bitch =p

Quite good for your first time!

The planet texture looks espacially great.

If I might give you a tip, try using less stars for the background. Your star field is very dense and blurred, it might look better if there were more empty spaces between them and if they were sharper :)

But again, it looks great for your first piece of space art!
thanks for the tip! ^_^ i think the stars came out like that because i scaled the image down to post, so i might go back and see if it looks better remade at the lower resolution.

possibly! what's your resolution? :evileye: (and do you care if it's flipped on the side, since that would be easier)

Jaw, meet floor. Floor, meet jaw. :jawdrop:

Amazing job, Kat! You should show CA from ASW this planet of yours. I think he'd be impressed. 8-)
