with these staring eyes and staring words,
i'd much rather be on the other side of the glass-
killing time, whirling by on my skateboard
as some other pathetic casualty of the workforce
looks out wistfully at me, not knowing which one of us
is guilty of wasting their life away."

through a long and complicated process, ~champdood and i have agreed this photo was a joint effort. it's the Edmonton skyline, shot through the window of the hotel we stayed at in August.

the poem is called 'acidrainstorm (redefining existentialism)' and it's something i wrote in 2005, based on an experience i had while working at the public library (the most mundane job ever.) i thought it was fitting because there's two sections of glass in this photo: the reflection of the city on the building, and the window between us and the outside.
