question before everything else, since i don't know who reads all of these things: how do you carry a spiked flail weapon without hurting yourself? it doesn't exactly fit in a sheath, and i sure wouldn't want that dangling at my side. (before you ask, it's because i'm writing a fantasy novel... which i'm now posting here)

now, onto the relevant stuff. awhile ago i wrote a journal detailing my thoughts in regards to how artists are defined on dA and to feeling proud of your gallery. by and large i still think the same way, that people here should be defined by what's in the gallery, not how popular they are or how attractive they are or whatever other impossible standard we're held to these days. we all know the struggle for popularity (at least, anyone who doesn't probably has better things to do than read this journal), and i don't post enough photos of myself to use my attractiveness () as a draw, so nearly a year later i still find myself bent on creating a gallery i'm proud of, and i still find myself duly failing.

i have come so far in the last year, but i still feel like i'm not trying hard enough, still feel i don't produce enough 'real' art and that my gallery is just cluttered with comics. don't get me wrong, i think comicking is a real art form, but it doesn't make for an impressive gallery unless you're an absolutely amazing artist, or unless you have -so many- comics people drop to the ground from sheer awe. 300 comics in 18 months is too much for the first and too little for the second.

anyway, i'm simultaneously working on cleaning out a bunch of old shit (i deleted 20+ comics the other day, so if you're looking for one and it's not here, you'll have to find it on millcityfiasco.com) and on creating new and better things to post. we'll see how that all pans out.

so for August i'm featuring angels. i've always loved angels, as proven by my name here on dA, and have drawn them more than a few times (some of which i still have posted). i aimed at picking art which took a slightly different approach to things... well, you'll see what i mean.
