It's always an honour to receive one, because it means that there's at least one writer/reader out there who not only took the time to read your work, but also liked it so much that they wanted to share it. That's the best validation there is. Stories are meant to be shared. 
But if you're a first time recipient the feedback situation must be a bit of a downer. The only reason I noticed last time was because 2/3 comments I received were automated "DD Congratulations" messages (bless their hearts for trying).
